WhatsApp stickers can appear as blank tiles, fail to download or disappear from the sticker tray. The cause is often temporary: a poor connection, an outdated app, low storage or a problem with one sticker pack.
Work through the fixes in order. Avoid deleting app data, because sticker troubleshooting should not put your chat history at risk.
Test another sticker pack, update WhatsApp and protect your backup before considering a reinstall.
Check whether the problem affects every sticker
Open another chat and try a built-in sticker or a different pack. If only one pack fails, remove that pack and download it again from a trusted source. Third-party sticker apps can stop working after an operating-system update.
If every sticker and GIF is failing, test the connection by switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data. Close WhatsApp completely and reopen it.
Update the app and free storage
Install the latest WhatsApp version from the official app store and restart the phone. A current version matters when WhatsApp changes sticker formats, suggestions or media handling.
Check available storage and remove unused downloads or large media if space is low. WhatsApp's general troubleshooting guidance recommends freeing storage and, on Android, clearing the app cache when the app behaves unexpectedly.

Check permissions and battery restrictions
On some Android phones, aggressive battery or data-saving settings can interrupt background downloads. Allow WhatsApp to use mobile data and remove unusually strict battery restrictions long enough to test.
If a separate sticker app supplies the pack, confirm that the app is still installed and allowed to run. Do not install unofficial WhatsApp versions to restore a pack.
Reinstall only as a final step
Confirm a recent chat backup before deleting WhatsApp. Reinstall the official app, verify the same number and restore the backup offered during setup.
If stickers still fail after reinstalling, contact WhatsApp support and include the phone model, software version and name of the affected sticker pack.
Clearing Android app storage or deleting WhatsApp can remove local data. A verified backup should come first.
